It is true that the slave holders did read into the Bible the reasons why they should hold blacks and other natives into bondage (The Canaan curse issue). This is because of the ambiguousness of the Bible, one can interoperate Bible verses to mean anything he or she wants. The fact is the Bible was the book use to justify slavery because it supports slavery.<BR/>How can an individual be against slavery yet support and find reasons why he or she should believe and accept the very book that supports the thing (slavery) he or she is against?
